Are you noticing that your eyelids are beginning to appear droopy? Cosmetic laser eyelid surgery, also known as Blepharoplasty, Eyelid Lift Surgery or simply Eye Lift, improves the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. It is also commonly called Eyelid Rejuvenation because it gives a truly rejuvenated appearance to the area surrounding your eyes, making you look more rested and alert.
Blepharoplasty surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes. It cannot, however, remove crow's feet or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles under the eyes, or lift sagging eyebrows.
The best candidates for laser eyelid lift surgery are men and women who are physically healthy and realistic in their expectations. Most are 35 or older, but if drooping eyelids seem to run in your family, you may opt to have this surgery done at a younger age.
The procedure involves removing fat, along with excess skin and muscle, from the upper and lower eyelids. It usually takes one to two hours, and most people return to their normal routine in about 5 days. If bruising is present, it can be covered temporarily with makeup. Within two weeks any bruising should be entirely healed.
